Savvy Tips for Falling Back Into a
Healthy Eating Routine

It’s that time of year when the days are shorter, the days get cooler, school begins and football.  And something else happens, we start eating more.

We typically eat 200 more calories as the days get shorter.  It’s instinctive to eat more in the fall, according to Psychology professor John de Castro, from the University of Texas, El Paso. Other studies suggest that the low spirits that can accompany the shorter hours of sunlight cause us to seek comfort in food. Those extra calories equal up to three or four more pounds per year.

Take advantage of the change of pace that comes with fall and take control of your health with nutrition.  There are some effective and easy strategies you can start now that can yield big improvements to your nutrition, help you reach your health goals and maybe lose a few extra pounds before the holidays.
