Jori Zimmerman

Certified Master Nutritionist
Founder of Nutrition Savvy

Hi, I'm Jori Zimmerman, Certified Master Nutrition Therapist and founder of Nutrition Savvy.

I didn’t start my career out being a nutritionist.  For over 20 years I was a corporate sales person.  I was doing the 50 plus hour weeks, traveling a ton and my health was paying for it.  Sound familiar?  We are all guilty of sacrificing our well-being for our careers.  I felt that my job was taking over and I know longer had balance in my life.   I was slowing gaining weight, my sleep was horrible and I wanted more energy on my down time to do what I want to do. What I was doing wasn’t working.  I was extremely frustrated with the way that I was feeling because I thought I was doing everything "right".    I found myself constantly reading to self-educate and self-heal. It was confusing trying to filter through all the information; I was overwhelmed by all of the mixed messages.   So, I made a crazy decision to go back to school and become a nutritionist.  Not easy but I love it.  For me, learning more about nutrition and changing my diet and lifestyle has completely changed my life.

I feel that there is a huge need out there to help individuals, families and businesses put their health and wellbeing first.  My goal is to close the gap between knowing and doing so that more can move forward on their journey to feeling and looking their best.

I want all my clients to be Nutrition Savvy for life!!

Nutrition Savvy Philosophy

Nutrition Savvy’s mission is to make a positive difference in people’s lives.  All services are designed to engage, enlighten, and motivate people to move towards long-term better health.

My focus is on you.

I am here as your guide on your health journey.  My job is to help you tune in and figure out what foods work and feel the best for your body and what habits work best for your lifestyle. I'm here to pave the way, but you will be the driver as you learn to trust yourself and your body.

Ditch the "Diet" mentality

You don't have to go on a strict diet to eat in a way that nourishes your body.  When you stop dieting, you have a chance to start working toward peace with food and your body.  Over time you become more intuitive and mindful about what and how you eat.  It becomes a practice of slowing down and learning to tune into yourself.

Real Food Matters

Getting healthy is not a simple as calories in and calories out.  It is about getting nutrient dense whole foods into your diet so that your body gets all the vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients if needs for optimal health.

Cooking

Meal planning and cooking are the most important skills you need to learn to take control of and optimize your health.

Making Good Habits Maintainable

Finding ways to make time in daily life for food and lifestyle habits that actually work for you.  You want all your hard work to pay off and keep paying off.

Non-Judgemental

I will not judge you for eating a certain food or in a certain way. We are all humans living busy lives and we do the best we can with what we have.  I am not perfect and I don't expect you to be either! We will meet where you are at now and go from there.
