What We Eat Does Matter

Adults in the United States spend more than half of their waking hours at work.  This gives employers a unique opportunity to impact the health and wellness of their workforce.  One way to greatly improve your employee’s health is with nutrition.  Nutrition is the foundation of our overall health and well-being.  What we eat does matter.  The food choices we make on a daily basis impacts us in surprising ways:  our stress and energy levels, digestion, moods, focus and memory, aches and pains and even our ability to get a good night of sleep.  What we eat can also set us up to develop chronic lifestyle diseases such as obesity, diabetes and pre-diabetes, heart disease and depression.  And if you think about, if we don’t address the food choices that people make, all the interventions and wellness services that many companies provide may not have the impact needed to make positive health changes.

Below is a link to a webinar presented by Jori Zimmerman for Colorado Health Links.  It focuses on Nutrition Strategies for Workplace Wellness.

Corporate House Calls - Nutrition Counseling

  • Employees receive customized counseling and support materials to help them achieve their health goals.
  • Key for employees whose health conditions require nutritional management (Type II diabetes, high cholesterol and triglycerides, obesity, gastrointestinal conditions, etc.).
  • Consultations can be done at the employer’s site,  at the offices of Nutrition Savvy or virtually.
  • Employers can book consults in half-day or full day blocks at your site to make it more accessible for the employee.

Group Wellness Challenges

We KNOW that changing health involves something more than complex than will power it takes SKILLPOWER.

Workplace Wellness “Challenges” – activities that engage people in becoming happier, healthier, and more energetic at work – are gaining popularity and changing lives at work.  The purpose of Challenges is to encourage healthier lifestyle behaviors.  Challenges are successful when a supportive, positive climate of fun and camaraderie helps people to adopt or maintain a healthy way of living.  With little or no investment in creating a company challenge, the net result is an engaged and productive workforce that performs at a higher level – everybody wins!

Employee Surveys
Health risk assessments. Bio-metric screenings... Employees are often asked by their employers to provide some of their most personal data. But how often do we ask them what they’d like out of a worksite wellness program? What would keep them more engaged? How can we help them meet their health goals? Surveys are key in designing services that provide your employees with what they need to reach their personal health goals.

Written Content for Newsletters, Employee Handouts, Websites, Special Events...
Nutrition Savvy will create content regarding a current nutrition topic or a on-going series highlighting your company’s special interest.
